Yesterday, President Obama said “the federal government will go bankrupt” if a sweeping, trillion dollar health care bill isn’t passed. “Health care costs,” he claims, “Are going to consume the entire federal budget.”
We’ve heard comments like this before. Half scare tactic, half threat, they usually come right about the time it looks like Barry may not get his way. The trillion dollar bailout is exhibit A. When its passage was in doubt, Obama told us that we might see unemployment rates as high as eight percent if it didn’t go through. Every one got frightened, the bill passed, and now unemployment’s at ten percent. Aren’t you glad everything worked out.
This time, his scare tactic isn’t having the same impact. Most pundits discredited the comment immediately, and the statement has been less of an asset, more of a liability.
It doesn’t help that in the 24 hours since he made the comment, Congress has passed a 1.1 Trillion Dollar spending package, a 155 Billion Dollar “jobs” initiative, and raised the debt ceiling by 300 Billion Dollars – some of which will be used to cover the fact that Democrats had already exceeded the previous limit.
Obama has already signed $1.1 Trillion of the new spending and will sign the debt limit increase once it goes through the Senate, where it is expected to pass easily.
So, Mr. President, forgive us for doubting your claim that it’s health care that’s pushing us over the bankruptcy cliff.
From where the American people are standing, it looks an awful lot like your doing.

Mr. Obama
Forgive me if I feel a little upset with the current state of the economy, but it seems that no matter what you say, it is always accompanied with “Do this or the sky will fall”. Why is that? Is it to get your way? Do you think we are all idiots? Do you think that we can not make our own minds up? or is it because we have never be privy to the “real” set of information you have? How can we ever trust you if you act the same was as the previous president G. W. Bush and “dictate” what we are to do?
Do you see that we are trying to speak out? or do you not care and will do what you want anyway?
You trouble me a lot. I thought that you would have at least done something that we could put our fingers on and said, :Look at this. It is great”. But that has not happened. You received a Nobel Peace prize when there was nothing that you have done, other than continue 2 wars, and indicate that there may even be 1 or 2 more on the horizon. I think that the best thing you could have done would have been to find a more deserving candidate and passed the award to him/her, since you are no where near that level yet.
I hope you et your act together, and stop trying to force this country into a state where demonstrations like the ones we had int he 1960’s and 1970’s were the standard.
Please, pay attention to “ALL” the people, not just a small fraction of the people. We all need you to do your job for us. You are present us, the best country in the world. I hope that that character will remain after you leave office.
Sincerely yours
Doug
Dear Mr. Obama (Spelling & Grammar corrected)
Forgive me if I feel a little upset with the current state of the economy, but it seems that no matter what you say, it is always accompanied with “Do this or the sky will fall”. Why is that? Is it to get your way? Do you think we are all idiots? Do you think that we cannot make our own minds up? Or is it because we have never been privy to the “REAL” data set or information you have? Wouldn’t it be appropriate for you to give us all of the information and let us have a say in “our” country’s direction? How can we ever trust you if you act the same was as the previous president G. W. Bush and “dictate” what we are to do?
Do you see that we are trying to speak out? Or do you not care and will do what you want anyway?
You trouble me a lot. I thought that you would have at least done something that we could put our fingers on and said, “Look at this. It is great”. But that has not happened. You received a Nobel Peace prize when there was nothing that you have done, other than add to our financial burden, continue 2 wars, and indicate that there may even be 1 or 2 more on the horizon. I think that the best thing you should have done would have been to find a more deserving candidate and passed the award to him/her, since you are no where near that level yet.
I hope you get your act together, and stop trying to force this country into a state, where demonstrations, like the ones we had in the 1960’s and 1970’s were the standard.
Please, pay attention to “ALL” the people, not just a small fraction of the people you think are more deserving. We all deserving; we all need you to do your job for us. You represent us, the best country in the world. I hope that that Country’s Character will remain in tact after you leave office.
Sincerely yours,
Doug
[...] “Here’s the guarantee… the federal government will go ’BANKRUPT‘ because Medicare and Medicaid are on a trajectory that are unsustainable.” [...]
Its funny that you would write an entire article to dispute something that is known to be fact.

No one is saying we don’t need to bring health care costs down. I’d like to know where you see that in the article.
The point is, if Obama is actually concerned about unsustainable budgets and bankruptcy, he should stop spending like Paris Hilton on a bender.
And speaking of sustainability, the Democrats plans both tax now for benefits that don’t kick in for anouther four years. This is how they get away with saying the plans are deficit neutral. Look beyond ten years, and they’re just as bankrupt and unsustainable as you claim the current system is.
I give him an F and he is not living up to the promises he made while a candidate for president. I said I did not trust him before the election and I sure don’t now
Hello,
It seems very obvious to me that every single time this man-(OBAMA)-Wants something that is going to cost everybody else in this country something he uses the term bankrupt. Well I have one for him. Mr. Phony so-called President you have already put this country into bankruptcy. How do you like that for a answer.
Thank you,
Larry D. Crumbley
P.S. Where I am from we still believe in the saying “IN GOD WE TRUST”, and not this federal government.
