According to an article at MSNBC.com, which was written by AP writer George Jahn, we’re a year into Obama’s reign, and the world is worse off than we were when he took office.
Obviously, somebody at MSNBC will have to be fired for letting the piece onto their site.
The article takes great care to present things conservatives have been saying for years as if they were brilliant bits of brand new, Earth-shattering analysis. Still, an assesment like this appearing on the official website of the “Olbermann’s Giant Head” network is stunning.
For example, it asserts that the U.N. sanctions have not managed to stop the two countries from pressing ahead with their nuclear ambitions.
In addition, the piece offers this bit of non-reporting.
Under Barack Obama, Washington has sought to talk directly with both Tehran and Pyongyang — tactics shunned by the Bush administration. The U.N . Security Council has approved a second package of sanctions in response to the North’s nuclear defiance and could agree on a fourth set for Iran within months.
But both countries seem impervious.
Wow . According to MSNBC.com, not only is the idea of a flaccid, ineffectual United Nations news, but Obama rejecting Bush administration policies has actually made things worse, and the two most dangerous nations on Earth are impervious to “talking.” Mark your calendars kids. You may never see such an admission again.
If only there was someone, anyone, who, a year ago, could have predicted this. Oh, hang on a minute, there was. In fact there were thousands. A quick google search for criticisms of Obama’s policy on this issue reveals hundreds of articles, along with quotes from then candidate john McCain, Senators, Representatives, pundits, and talk radio hosts – all of which say the same thing. “Obama’s strategy of sanctions and engagement won’t work.”
Strangely, no one at MSNBC seems to have made that claim. I guess they were to busy stumping for the President to do any reporting.
Thanks for trying to catch up, guys. When Iran reduces Israel to pile of rubble in the shadow of a mushroom cloud, I’m sure you’ll be right there with an article about how it’s time to get serious, because Ahmadinejad “might have a nuclear bomb.”
