Australian Parliment Defeats Cap And Trade

Here in the US, we may be charging toward a cap-and-trade triggered economic meltdown.  Fortunately for them, our friends down under have managed to dodge the carbon credit bullet.

According to the AP, Australia’s Parliament has defeated that country’s proposed cap and trade measure in a 41-33 vote.  Not only that, but the leader of their Conservative party, who was a cap-and-trade supporter, was ousted and replaced.  The new Conservative leader was instrumental in defeating the bill.

Well done, OZ.
