It wasn't solely the conservative idealistic undertones that turned me off either. It was rather predictable. You have a fatherless and secretive kid and a mother who kicks a**. Sarah Conner Chronicles anyone? From the time her FBI partner got his second screen time I knew he was an alien. Also, Robert, there are millions of Chuck fans and I'm one of them. I also voted for Obama and I don't see him as "almighty". No one needs to depend on anyone else for 'salvation', politically or spiritually. But we won't get into that. I do feel bad for Morena Baccarin. I loved her in Firefly and Stargate. Most sci-fi fans welcome the idea of "hope" and "change" and universal equality, yet this show clearly shows it an ugly light. Not sure if I'll keep watching, even if the beautiful and talented Miss Baccarin is in it. This show was a disappointment.
