Well, there may not be any space-fascists out there, but surprise!  It looks like we may have found some of the human variety.

Just after I posted my thoughts about the new V series, I found this article at BigHollywood.com.

It looks like the network that made a name for itself with Obama’s health care infomercial, isn’t all that thrilled with the fact that V dared to take on the almighty Barack.  They’ve decided to dump the man responsible, show-runner Scott Peters, and replace him with the guy who handles the TV series “Chuck.”

You watch “Chuck” don’t you?  Oh, that’s right, no one does.

This all comes despite the fact that V was a hit, winning its timeslot, and becomming the highest rated premiere of the fall.

It’s heartening to know that if, heaven forbid, some mysterious hope-based  leader with a dubious agenda and an unexplored background were to actually appear, ABC would be the first to fall in line.

Let’s just pray that something like that never happens.

  1. Scott says:

I like Chuck! Can’t wait until March when it comes back on.

Hey Scott. Y’know, most days I look at my email and it’s from a bunch of people who think I’m a racist, or I hate the poor, or I hate women, blah blah blah.

Today, however, I’m being bombarded by outraged “Chuck” fans.

Who knew there were more than four or five of you!?

  3. Debbie says:

This show was a disappointment. It wasn’t solely the conservative idealistic undertones that turned me off either. It was rather predictable. You have a fatherless and secretive kid and a mother who kicks a**. Sarah Conner Chronicles anyone? From the time her FBI partner got his second screen time I knew he was an alien. Also, Robert, there are millions of Chuck fans and I’m one of them. I also voted for Obama and I don’t see him as “almighty”. No one needs to depend on anyone else for ‘salvation’, politically or spiritually. But we won’t get into that. I do feel bad for Morena Baccarin. I loved her in Firefly and Stargate. Most sci-fi fans welcome the idea of “hope” and “change” and universal equality, yet this show clearly shows it an ugly light. Not sure if I’ll keep watching, even if the beautiful and talented Miss Baccarin is in it.
