In the late 70’s, when they weren’t warning us of the incoming terror that was global cooling, the alarmists were trumpeting the over population crisis.  Much the way they view Global Warming these days, they saw humanity’s growth as the thing that would surely destroy us all, leaving the planet unsustainable in just a few decades.  Well, we’re all still here, and so are the documents that their movement left behind.  This is especially troubling for John Holdren, who in 1977 co-authored the book “Ecoscience.”

The tome puts forth the scenario that global over-population is a very real threat, and that extraordinary measures would be necessary in order to avert the coming horror.

The measures he recommended? 

• Forced abortion of women’s pregnancies
• Mass sterilization of the populace, through drugs put in the nation’s water and food
• Mandatory bodily implants designed to prevent pregnancy
• Single or teenage mothers should have their children taken away, to be raised by more stable couples.
• Legal limits on the number of children couples can have
• A planetary regime that would assume control of the world’s economy via an armed international force.

Thank god this man never got any real power, right?  Not so fast. 

He’s now Barack Obama’s Science Czar, adviser to the President for Science and Technology, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. In other words, he’s the man who sets America’s scientific agenda.

Now that the world has a new threat in “Global Warming” and such luminaries as Al Gore, the Pope, and the Canadian president are recommending some of the same measures to fight it, it’s good to know that Obama’s chosen a sickening old 70’s radical to plot the country’s scientific course.

Please ask yourself: If any conservative president had appointed a man who’d authored a book like this, wouldn’t he be facing accusations of monstrous fascism from the left?  Where is the press on this matter? 

You can tell a lot about a man by the people he surrounds himself with.  Remember Holdren’s words the next time someone tries to tell you what a centrist Obama is.
