Republicans Retake New York Senate

 senatecoup1

Last November, the GOP lost control of the New York Senate.  Yesterday, they took it back.

The power grab is a convoluted mish-mash involving two rogue Democrats, Pedro Espada of the Bronx and Hiram Monserrate of Queens, who jumped ship and joined the Republicans.  The remaining Dems, who earlier this year lauded Arlen Spector for doing the exact same thing, were outraged.  Terrified of losing power and furious over the defection,  they ran from the chamber and shut down the power and internet in the building - forcing Republicans to take the vote in the dark.

Now, they’re vowing to do the same thing Democrats always do when they lose: challenge the matter in court.

Way to stay classy, Dems.
